Casino Providers

Juicy Stakes has the advantage of offering games from three different game providers. Lucktap, Betsoft and Worldmatch each offer a unique gaming experience, game features and promotion options.

LUCKTAP

LUCKTAP (formerly known as Takisto) is no stranger to the world of virtual entertainment. Nowadays, where getting connected and playing online anywhere in the world is becoming ever easier, it is becoming increasingly difficult for a company to stand out among competitors.

Lucktap has always set the standards as a software developer. If you are interested in popular, as well as classic casino table and card games, then this company has exactly the right offers with a huge range of great games in this segment.

Betsoft Gaming

Betsoft is a game developer that has been taking huge leaps forward over recent years to become one of the biggest players in the business. They are also one of the few game developers launching some of the most graphically-pleasing games on the market. Betsoft is known for launching their games in high-quality 3D graphics, and also for having the ability to have their games saved directly to your web browser.

In Betsoft's games you will get the opportunity to experience amazing 3D graphics, smart sound effects and games with good storylines and out-of-the-box concepts. On top of offering high quality slots, the company also offers games such as Roulette, Black Jack and a variety of table games. The game developer is especially known for SLOTS3, a collection of 3D slots that hold a very high standard.

Worldmatch

Worldmatch is a leading game provider of multi-line slot games, with their signature HD graphics, advanced control toolbar and social network integration features.

There are the game providers whose slots can be recognized from the first spin and Worldmatch is definitely one of them. What distinguishes Worldmatch online slots is their bright and very detailed HD graphics that can be found in each and every game on the Worldmatch slot games list. Slot design by these guys is as good as modern video games design, no kidding. As for the game features, they are usual for most of the video slots: wilds, scatters, free spins and bonus rounds. You can also choose the number of betting lines and the bet-amount you wish to place.

Security

Creative and maintaining a safe and secure gaming environment is our number one priority. Our Juicy Stakes Security Team will promptly and thoroughly investigate all complaints registered by players suspecting questionable practices or collusion. Any player found to be participating in collusion or deceptive practices will have their account immediately closed and will be permanently banned from our games.

Please contact our Security Team directly with any questions at Support@JuicyStakes.eu

Collusion

Collusion is an unacceptable practice that undermines the integrity of the games. In order to combat collusion Juicy Stakes employs numerous preventative security measures which include random security checks and log-file reviews. Our analysis includes automatic tracking of betting patterns related to the strength of a player's hand and referencing that against other player’s actions at the same table to determine if they may be working together. Sophisticated algorithms are employed to identify, track and uncover collusion help to ensure the integrity of our system and fairness at our tables.

Bots

The use of Artificial Intelligence or “bots” is strictly forbidden. Juicy Stakes employs measures to prevent and detect the use of programs that are designed to enable artificial intelligence (non-human) play on the site. Players found to be using such programs will have their account closed immediately and they will be banned from playing at the site permanently.

Tracking Prevention

Juicy Stakes does not support the use of tracking software (software used by players to track the play of others). We are proud to lead the way in preventing the effectiveness of software that unfairly gives players an advantage over others at the table.

In order to allow players to study their hands, Juicy Stakes stores a Hand History text file for every player that can be reviewed later. Tools have emerged over the years to allow players to better understand their own play by loading these text files for analysis. For some players, these tools are useful to try and learn how to better their play. Juicy Stakes welcomes players to study their own hand histories to better their own play, so long as they do not use tools during game play.

Recently, some tools have been created that can also be used to track and store the long term play of other players at the table. Not stopping there, some tools are actually sharing their tracked data with other tool users. This allows the good possibility that players who are unfairly using these tools will have statistics on players they’ve never played against before. These tools currently rely on a common factor: that poker sites will rarely allow players to change their nicknames, if at all.

Game Tables

Am I able to play poker for free before I begin playing for real money?

Juicy Stakes is pleased to offer play money games to allow players the opportunity to familiarize themselves with our software, and the game of poker. To locate our play tables, select "Ring Games" at the top of the lobby screen, followed by "Play Money". By selecting "All", you'll be able to view all our play money table offerings. You may filter the list further by clicking on a specific game type.

How many play-money chips do I start with?

You will be given 1,000 play money chips to start. If at any time your play chip count drops below 1,000, simply click on the Dealer's tray and your stack will be refreshed.

How do I make notes on a player?

When you are at a table, there is a "Note" tab located on the bottom left of the game screen. This feature allows you to make notes on any opposing players by selecting the desired player from the drop down menu (all players seated at your table will appear in your selection). From there, you simply need to type in any comments you wish to make and they will stick with that player regardless of any Player ID changes they may make. In addition to the notes, you are able to apply a color coded label identifying the type of player that they are.

How do I know if Notes have been made on a player?

If you see a small color box in the right hand corner of an opposing player's nameplate, there are already notes available to you from a previous entry. This is quite handy since Juicy Stakes allows players to frequently adjust their Player ID.

How can I check the outcome of a hand I was in?

The "Last Hand" button is located below the current hand number and can be clicked to provide an immediate review of the previous hand. You will also find the Hand History in text format, in the folder where you installed Juicy Stakes located within your personal computer files.

If you find that you are not receiving the confirmation e-mail promptly after submitting your inquiry we would suggest that you have a look in your Junk Mail folder. Juicy Stakes does not engage in the act of sending unsolicited e-mails however some aggressive mail filters may mistakenly identify our e-mails as spam and treat them as such.

Poker Room Etiquette

What are the rules concerning chat at the tables?

Alternatively, you can block out chat player by player. To do this, go to the 'Notes' tab in the bottom left corner of the table screen, select the specific player from the drop down listing and choose 'ignore'.

Technical

Why is the auto-upgrade not working?

In some cases, auto-upgrading will not work. This can be due to local caching and firewall issues, which prevent our software from properly upgrading itself.

Select the JuicyStakesSetup.exe hyperlink to begin the process.

Choose 'Run program from its current location', select 'Open File' and save it to your computer.

Please ensure that you have a valid sound card and your speakers are not set to mute. Check to see that you have sounds selected via the Juicy Stakes 'Options' tab. The Chat Tab in the bottom right corner of the Table Screen contains an 'Options' Button where you can select 'all', 'alerts only' or 'silent'.

Do you have a MAC version?

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer a version of our software specifically designed for the MAC.

Why is my game so slow?

The communication between your machine and our servers has been optimized for the fastest response. If you notice that your game is moving slowly, there are two likely explanations:

  1. The players on the table are taking a long time to act when it is their turn.
  2. You may not have a good connection to the Internet.

How will I play if I am connected to the Internet through a firewall or proxy server?

Please ensure that your firewall is set to permit connections to the Juicy Stakes servers. There is no need to disable your firewall however you will need to ensure that your server is set to accept connections to the following IP addresses: 200.26.205.0 to 200.26.205.127. In addition you will need to ensure that ports 80, 433, 8048, and 8049 are open.

What happens to my hand if I get disconnected while I am playing?

If you are connected to the game server when it is your turn to act in any real money ring or tournament game, and you timeout by not acting within the allowable 25 seconds, your hand will be set to 'Fold to Any Bet' (this will cause you to check if the action is checked to you, or fold if there is action to you).

In a multi-table tournament, you'll be given more time to reconnect and when that time expires, your Extra Time will engage if you have money invested in the pot. At expiry of time in the Extra Time, you will be folded, except in the case of the final table at which players will be given up to 240 seconds to re-establish connection prior to being folded.

Rake

Rake is the scaled commission fee taken by Juicy Stakes for hosting poker cash games and poker tournaments - similar to all brick & mortar casinos. The amount of rake removed from each pot is based on two elements: a) game stakes and b) how many players were dealt cards.

Juicy Stakes has a no flop, no drop policy, meaning no rake is removed if game play completes before the flop.

Please use the rake calculator below to calculate the rake schedule.

Omaha Hi-Lo Rules

The Game

Omaha Hi-Lo (short for high & low) brings an extra dimension of possibilities to Texas Holdem. This can lead to creating significantly larger pots due to the number of drawing possibilities.

The same Omaha rules apply to Omaha Hi-Lo with the exception that the pot may be shared between a player holding the high (Hi) hand and a player holding the qualifying low (Lo) hand.

The Hi-Lo Factor

A low hand must have a high card "8 or better" to qualify to be the low hand. That is, to be eligible to win the low, the highest card must be an 8 or lower. Upon a tie with the high card, the hand goes to the player with the next lowest high card. Any hand that is high card 9 or higher cannot qualify as a low hand. In Omaha Hi-Lo the same player can also win both pots for the Hi & Lo hand when there is no qualifying low hand. The straight ace to five is the best possible low hand with the straight four to eight being the worse possible qualifying low hand. The ace can be used as a high and low card in Omaha Hi-Lo. Straights and flushes are not considered when evaluating a low hand.

Types of Omaha Hi-L

As with Omaha and Texas Holdem, there are three betting variations that can be played out in ring or tournament game play.

  • No Limit: Players may bet all of their chips at any time.
  • Pot Limit: Players may bet an amount equal to the pot size.
  • Limit: Players may bet a fixed amount for each round.

How to play Omaha Hi-Lo

The Button

In Omaha Hi-Lo, a disc known as the dealer "button" serves to recognize which player sitting at the table is the dealer for that particular hand. The cards are dealt in a clockwise direction from the dealer button. Each time the cards are dealt, a new betting round begins. An Omaha Hi-Lo hand starts when the first card is dealt and ends when a winner is declared. After each hand has been completed, as with standard poker rules, the "button" moves clockwise to the next active player. This is done because there is an advantage to having to act last and therefore each player will get his fair share of early, late and middle positions. This player will be considered to be "playing the button" for that hand.

Blinds

The player to the immediate left of the button is first to receive a card and is required to post a small blind. The small blind is equal to half the lower limit bet rounded down to the nearest dollar (For example, in a $4-$8 game, the small blind is $4; in a $3-$6 game, the small blind is $3. The player to the immediate left of the small blind is required to post the big blind, equal to the lower limit bet (For example, in a $3-$6 game, the big blind is $6.). When a new player sits down at an Omaha Hi-Lo poker game, he must either post the equivalent of the big blind or wait for their turn in the big blind. This prevents Omaha Hi-Lo players from gaining an advantage by avoiding the blinds and jumping in and out of games. If you have missed one or both blinds, our software will prompt you to put in the correct amount. You can also wait for the blind to get to your position. This is called coming in on the blind. Both blinds in Omaha Hi-Lo poker are considered live bets and therefore, according to poker rules, have the option of checking, calling, raising or folding when the betting action returns to their position.

Betting Rounds

First Round (Pre-Flop) - After the Omaha Hi-Lo players in the blind positions put their blinds into the pot the dealer deals four cards called "hole cards" to each player. At this time each player can see his own cards but not those of his opponents. After seeing their hole cards, players now have the option to play their hands by calling, raising or folding. On the first round only, a player cannot check (make no bet) and still retain his hand. On the first round only, the betting starts with the first active player to the immediate left of the big blind. As mentioned, the minimum bet is the size of the big blind. The minimum bet in this round is the size of the big blind. Thus in a $5/$10 Limit Omaha Hi-Lo game, it would cost a minimum of $10 for the player who acts first to call in this initial round of betting. (The maximum dollar value and number of raises per round depends on version of Omaha being played as described below.)

Second Round (Flop) - Next, three cards are dealt face-up on the board also known as the "flop". These three community cards are available to all active players. In this round play begins with the first active player to the immediate left (clockwise) of the dealer button, who has one of three choices, check, bet, or fold. Until there is a bet, each succeeding active player has, in turn, one of three choices; call, raise, or fold. Bets and raises occur in lower limit bet increments. Therefore in a $5/$10 Omaha game the bet would cost a minimum of $5.

Third Round (Turn) - When betting action is completed for the flop round, the "turn" is dealt face-up on the board. The turn is the fourth community card in an Omaha Hi-Lo poker game. Play once again begins with the active player immediately left (clockwise) of the dealer button and the same rules apply as the second round except that poker betting doubles from the lower limit bet to the higher limit bet. In a $5/$10 game, betting on the turn is done in $10 increments.

Fourth Round (River) - When betting action is completed for the turn round, the "river" is dealt face-up on the board. The river is the fifth and final community card in an Omaha Hi-Lo game. Play once again begins with the active player immediately left (clockwise) of the dealer button as explained above.

Showdown - When all the betting is done, and if more than one player is still in for the pot, then the showdown determines who wins the game of Omaha Hi-Lo. In Omaha Hi-Lo, it is possible that one or more betting rounds not take place if only one active player has any chips left with all other active players having bet all their chips (all-in). When this occurs, any remaining community cards will be dealt face up and a showdown will take place. The last player to open or raise is required to show their cards first and anyone else can fold (muck his cards if he decides he has lost. Players who elect to fold do not have to show their cards. (i.e. muck his cards if he decides he has lost. However the hole cards of all players who stay in to the showdown are included in the hand history, even if they choose to muck). The player with the best five-card hand wins the pot. At the showdown each player must use exactly two of their four pocket cards and combine them with exactly three boardcards. At the showdown each player can use any two of their pocket cards for their high hand and any two of their pocket cards for their low. In the event of identical hands, the pot will be equally divided between the players with the best hands. Omaha Hi-Lo rules state that all suits are equal, so split pots are more common than in other variations of poker.

Betting Structures

Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

In Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, players must bet a pre-determined fixed amount per each round. The betting amount is equal to the big blind for the first two rounds of betting and doubles up for the last two rounds of betting. A maximum of 4 bets is allowed per round which includes a bet and three raises. (Example; in a $5/$10 Limit Omaha Hi-Lo game, players must bet $5 and raise by $5 up to a maximum of $20 for the pre-flop and flop rounds, they must bet $10 and raise by $10 up to a maximum of $40 for the turn and river round).

Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

In Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, the minimum amount a player can raise must equal or be greater than the last bet or raise within the same round. The maximum a player may bet is equal to the amount in the pot including his call before making the raise. (Example; a player's call is $5 and the pot is $20, he may raise to a maximum of $50. His call of $5 brings the pot to $25 and he may raise the amount equal to the pot of $25, thus the raise is $25.)

No Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

In No Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, the minimum amount a player can bet must be equal or greater than the big blind and a raise must equal or be greater then the last bet or raise within the same round. There is no maximum amount to bet, a player may bet his entire stack at any time. The number of raises is only limited to a player's chips total.

Omaha Rules

If you like Texas Holdem, you will probably love Omaha and Omaha High-Lo. They are both slight variations of Texas Holdem except that they offer a much wider range of hand possibilities which gives another layer of strategy and excitement to your poker experience.

The Game

As with Texas Holdem, Omaha is a game during which players use community cards to create a hand. In Omaha however, players are dealt four cards (hole cards) dealt face down, while five community cards are dealt face up on the table throughout a series of four betting rounds.

Rules

Again, as with Texas Holdem, the object is to win the pot that players invest in by betting during the various rounds but with two major differences. In Omaha, players create their best poker hand by using two of their four hole cards, combined with three community cards. The best five-card poker hand among those in contention for the pot wins.

Types of Omaha

The game of Omaha itself has variations. Omaha Hi-Lo uses the game details above but plays with low and high poker hand possibilities.

As per Texas Holdem, there are three betting variations of Omaha that can be played out in ring or tournament game play.

  • No Limit: Players may bet all of their chips at any time.
  • Pot Limit: Players may bet an amount equal to the pot size.
  • Limit: Players may bet a fixed amount for each round.

Below, you'll learn the basics of playing Omaha (High) online, within your home or in a brick & mortar poker room or casino.

There are two different types of Omaha Poker games, made different by their betting structures

  • Limit: Players may bet a fixed amount for each round.
  • Pot Limit: Players may bet an amount equal to the pot size.

Limit Omaha

In Limit Omaha, players must bet a pre-determined fixed amount per each round. The betting amount is equal to the big blind for the first two rounds of betting and doubles up for the last two rounds of betting. A maximum of 4 bets is allowed per round which includes a bet and three raises. (Example; in a $5/$10 Limit Omaha game, players must bet $5 and raise by $5 up to a maximum of $20 for the pre-flop and flop rounds, they must bet $10 and raise by $10 up to a maximum of $40 for the turn and river round).

Pot Limit Omaha

In Pot Limit Omaha, the minimum amount a player can raise must equal or be greater than the last bet or raise within the same round.

Texas Hold'em Rules

If you’ve been watching poker on TV chances are the game you were watching was Texas Holdem. It’s also the classic form of poker in America. No Limit Holdem has become one of the world's most played card games, as well as the most potentially lucrative, thanks to live tournaments such as the World Poker Tour and of course, the World Series of Poker*.

The Game

In its simplest definition, Texas Holdem, or Holdem, is a poker game in which each player receives two cards (hole cards) dealt face down, while five community cards are dealt face up on the table throughout a series of four betting rounds.

Rules

In Texas Holdem poker, the object of the game is to win the pot that players invest in by betting during the various rounds. All players play their best five cards using any combination of their two hole cards and the five community cards on the table. The best five-card poker hand among those in contention for the pot wins.

Types of Texas Holdem

As with any poker game, there are a few variations that differ, based on their betting structures. In Texas Holdem, those three are:

  • No Limit: Players may bet all of their chips at any time.
  • Pot Limit: Players may bet an amount equal to the pot size.
  • Limit: Players may bet a fixed amount for each round.

Below, you'll learn the basics of playing Texas Holdem online, within your home or in a brick & mortar poker room or casino.

How to Play Texas Holdem

The Button

In Texas Holdem, a disc known as the dealer "button" serves to recognize which player sitting at the table is the dealer for that particular hand. The cards are dealt in a clockwise direction from the dealer button. Each time the cards are dealt, a new betting round begins. A Texas Holdem hand starts when the first card is dealt and ends when a winner is declared. After each hand has been completed, as with standard poker rules, the "button" moves clockwise to the next active player. This is done because there is an advantage to having to act last and therefore each player will get his fair share of early, late and middle positions. This player will be considered to be "playing the button" for that hand.

Blinds

The player to the immediate left of the button is first to receive a card and is required to post a "small blind". The small blind is equal to half the lower limit bet rounded down to the nearest dollar (For example, in a $4-$8 game, the small blind is $4; in a $3-$6 game, the small blind is $3. The player to the immediate left of the small blind is required to post the "big blind", equal to the lower limit bet (For example, in a $3-$6 game, the big blind is $6.). When a new player sits down at a Texas Holdem poker game, they must either post the equivalent of the big blind or wait for their turn in the big blind. This prevents players from gaining an advantage by avoiding the blinds and jumping in and out of games. If you have missed one or both blinds, our software will prompt you to put in the correct amount. You can also wait for the blind to get to your position. This is called coming in on the blind. Both blinds in Texas Holdem poker are considered live bets and therefore, according to poker rules, have the option of checking, calling, raising or folding when the betting action returns to their position.

Betting Rounds

First Round (Pre-Flop) - After the Texas Holdem players in the blind positions put their blinds into the pot the dealer deals two cards called "hole cards" to each player. The minimum bet in this round is the size of the big blind. Thus in a $5/$10 No Limit Texas Holdem game, it would cost a minimum of $10 for the player who acts first to call in this initial round of betting. (The maximum dollar value and number of raises per round depends on version of Texas Hold'em being played as described below.)

Second Round (Flop) - Next, three cards are dealt face-up on the board also known as the "flop". These three community cards are available to all active players. In this round play begins with the first active player to the immediate left (clockwise) of the dealer button, who has one of three choices, check, bet, or fold. Until there is a bet, each succeeding active player has the same choices. Once a bet is made, each succeeding Texas Holdem player then has, in turn, one of three choices; call, raise, or fold. Bets and raises occur in lower limit bet increments. Therefore in a $5/$10 No Limit Texas Hold'em game the bet would cost a minimum of $5.

Third Round (Turn) - When betting action is completed for the flop round, the "turn" is dealt face-up on the board. The turn is the fourth community card in a Texas Hold'em poker game.

The river is the fifth and final community card in a Texas Hold'em game. Play once again begins with the active player immediately left (clockwise) of the dealer button as explained above.

Showdown - When all the betting is done, and if more than one player is still in for the pot, then the showdown determines who wins the game of Texas Holdem. In No Limit Texas Holdem, it is possible that one or more betting rounds not take place if only one active player has any chips left with all other active players having bet all their chips (all-in). When this occurs, any remaining community cards will be dealt face up and a showdown will take place. The last player to open with a bet or raise is required to show their cards first and anyone else can fold. Players who elect to fold do not have to show their cards. (i.e. muck his cards if he decides he has lost. However the hole cards of all players who stay in to the showdown are included in the hand history, even if they choose to muck). The player with the best five-card hand wins the pot. In the event of identical hands, the pot will be equally divided between the players with the best hands. Texas Hold'em rules state that all suits are equal, so split pots are more common than in other variations of poker.

There are three different types of Texas Holdem Poker games, made different by their betting structures

  • No Limit: Players may bet all of their chips at any time.
  • Pot Limit: Players may bet an amount equal to the pot size.
  • Limit: Players may bet a fixed amount for each round.

No Limit Texas Holdem

In No Limit Texas Holdem, the minimum amount a player can bet must be equal or greater than the big blind and a raise must equal or be greater then the last bet or raise within the same round. There is no maximum amount to bet, a player may bet his entire stack at any time. The number of raises is only limited to a player's chips total.

Pot Limit Texas Holdem

In Pot Limit Texas Holdem, the minimum amount a player can raise must equal or be greater than the last bet or raise within the same round.

Limit Texas Holdem

In Limit Texas Holdem, players must bet a pre-determined fixed amount per each round. The betting amount is equal to the big blind for the first two rounds of betting and doubles up for the last two rounds of betting. A maximum of 4 bets is allowed per round which includes a bet and three raises. (Example; in a $5/$10 Limit Texas Hold'em game, players must bet $5 and raise by $5 up to a maximum of $20 for the pre-flop and flop rounds, they must bet $10 and raise by $10 up to a maximum of $40 for the turn and river round).

Just like in any poker room, certain rules apply to ensure a pleasant and courteous game for everyone so, before you take your seat at a table please take a moment to look them over.

See you at the final table!

Tournament Rules

  1. Tournament seats are available on a first come first served basis.
  2. Seating within all single and multi table tournaments is random. Players cannot change seats during a tournament. A player will change seat only when moved from a table to another table during a multi-table tournament.
  3. The player situated in Seat 1 is the designated 'Dealer' for the start of the tournament.
  4. If more than one player is eliminated in a hand, the player with more chips at the beginning of the hand is placed higher. In an instance where 2 or more players are eliminated, and they started the hand with an identical chip count, the player closest to the left of the Dealer Button will be eliminated first, then the player closest to the left of that player, and so on, clockwise around the table.
  5. If there is a split pot, not equally divisible by the number of players in the hand, the chips will first be divided evenly between the winners, then any extra chip(s) will be awarded to he player(s) closest to the left of the Dealer Button.
  6. Juicy Stakes Poker uses the "Dead Button Rule" in Texas Hold'em and Omaha tournaments. The Dead Button Rule works as follows: when the small blind or big blind player is eliminated, the blinds are re-positioned in order to account for the eliminated player. This ensures fairness to all players, by ensuring that everyone at the table posts appropriate blinds so that no player gains an unfair advantage when another payer is eliminated. When two players remain (or in a Heads-up tournament) the button will post the small blind and act first on the opening round.
  7. Poker is a game of integrity and etiquette. Each player should play with the same intensity against all other players. Unethical play, such as soft-play and chip dumping, may result in penalties, including seizure of funds from the offender's account and/or forfeiture of any prizes and/or termination of the account.
  8. Juicy Stakes Poker reserves the right to cancel or reschedule tournaments at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.
  9. Tournament registration must meet minimum requirements for that event or the tournament will be cancelled. In the event of a tournament cancellation, due to an insufficient number of entrants, all buy-ins and entry fees will be returned to player's accounts.
  10. In the final stages of a tournament, the prize money can jump significantly with each player eliminated. In these instances, where there is more than one table remaining, the tournament may be played "hand-for-hand". This means that if one table finishes its hand before the other table(s), that table waits for the other table(s) to finish before the next hand is dealt. During this hand-for-hand period, all bust outs during a "synchronized" hand (even at different tables) are treated as having happened on the same hand and chip stacks will be compared as in rule 7 above to determine the finishing order.
  11. Extra Time
    • Each player is allotted a Time Bank during tournament play, to allow for decision making. Such extra time is limited and is displayed as a clock when activated. It decreases as it is being used and stops once a player acts. Extra time will automatically be activated if a player has an active connection to the game, has money in the pot and does not act in time.
    • The amount of extra time provided varies for each tournament. Each tournament's specific extra time bank will be displayed in the Tournament Information screen, via the Tournament Lobby.
  12. Break Schedules
    • There will be a 5 minute break every hour in a standard multi-table tournament. There are no breaks during single-table tournaments.
  13. Deals
    • Juicy Stakes Poker does not assist in any deals among players during tournaments. Tournaments will continue until there is one declared winner, unless it is a satellite event, and the payoffs will be exactly according to the prize payout structure.
  14. Registration
    • Late Registration: Some tournaments will allow players to register after the tournament has started playing. Registration will terminate if the max number of players allowed for the tourney is reached:
      • Or 15 minutes after the start of a freezeout tourney
      • Or After the first break of an R&A tourney
      • Or After the first prize has been awarded
    • Unregistration: In most tournaments a player can unregister until ten minutes prior to the start of the event. Players who have won their seats through a satellite can unregister when the tournament is in "Registering" state and will be credited with a Ticket. The Tournament Ticket will appear under the Player's 'My Tournaments' and is available for use for the same tournament, at another scheduled time.
  15. Server Issues
    • In the event of a server crash, all hands in progress will be rolled back. Each player's chip count will be reset to the amount at the beginning of the hand.
    • If we experience a server crash or unscheduled downtime of less than 20 minutes we will attempt to restart tournaments as soon as the majority of players have reconnected. If the downtime lasts longer than 20 minutes we reserve the right to cancel tournaments and refund players based on our tournament cancellation policy.
  16. Juicy Stakes Poker Management decisions are final.

Tournament Types & Features

Juicy Stakes poker tournaments come all shapes and sizes. Whatever you’re looking for in a poker tournament, chances are we’ve got it running.

Multi-table

If more than one table is needed to accommodate the number of registered players in a tournament, it is known as a multi-table tournament. During a Multi-table tournament, as players are eliminated, players will be moved randomly from one table to another in order to keep the number of players at each table as balanced as possible. Although we try to be fair and move players in relation to their position with the dealer button, a player may end up moving from their blinds and move to a blind position again.

Sit & Go

Sit & Go tournaments are events that do not have a scheduled start time. They start when the needed number of registered players is reached. When the prearranged number of competitors is reached each participant is notified that the tournament is about to start. Example: A No Limit Hold’em one table Sit & Go will start as soon as ten players are registered.

Heads-up

When a contest is between 2 players only, it is referred to as Heads-up. Heads-up Shoot-out tournaments are a good way to improve your winning game, as you will end up facing one opponent most of the time to win any tournament. The rules are the same with Heads-up play with the exception that the player with the "dealer button" posts the small blind and will act first pre-flop then last for the remainder of the hand. The player who posts the big blind is dealt first.

Re-buy & Add-on Tournament

Some tournaments allow for players to conditionally Re-buy & Add-on during a predetermined time period in the tournament. They allow for players to continue in the tournament and still have the opportunity to win the tournament for a Re-buy or with one available Add-on. Re-buy & Add-on tournaments are a great way to increase the prize pool and the number of players who will qualify for prizes. All Re-buys & Add-on monies are included in the prize pool.

Freeze-out

In a Freeze-out tournament players make a single Buy-in and upon losing all their chips, will be eliminated from the tournament. As players become eliminated the tables are combined with other tables until there is a final table and ultimately there is one player left with all the chips.

Shoot-out

A Shoot-out tournament consists of a limited number of players competing on different tables. In round 1, players compete until there is one player left at each table with all the chips. In round 2 the winners from round 1 are then combined at other tables and they again play until there is one player left with all the chips. A Shoot-out tournament can have between two (Heads-up) to ten players on each table competing over 1 or more rounds. The number of rounds and players per table varies and can be found in the tournament lobby.

Satellites

Satellite tournaments are events where prizes are entries into other larger tournaments. A satellite could award the winner(s) entries into other satellites. All satellite tournaments end when all players have won or qualified for their prizes.

Freeroll

Juicy Stakes regularly offers tournaments that require no Buy-in or registration fees, no risks or conditions. These true freerolls are our way of giving back to our players.

Gold Chip or Gold Card Buy-ins

At Juicy Stakes, we reward every player. Gold Chips and Gold Cards, earned through Juicy Stake's Reward Program, are used as the buy-in currency for our Reward tournaments. All Gold Card and Gold Chip events are housed under the Gold tab within Tournaments and offer cash and prizes.

Tournaments

There's something for everyone at Juicy Stakes. Our 24/7 schedule offers multi-table tournaments, Sit & Go's, satellites and direct qualifiers to the poker world's most prestigious live events with buy-ins starting at only a few cents to a few hundred.

Tournament Lobby

Once you find a tournament you’re interested in, double-click on the listing to open the Tournament Lobby; here you will find key information on the buy-in, prizes, player information and your starting chip stack before registering for any event. There are four tabs that give you all the information you need on any event you are considering playing, the Summary, Players, Prizes or Info tabs.  The Summary tab gives you a summary of the Prize pool and tournament payout.  The Players tab shows you all the players registered for the tournament. The Prizes tab shows you the Prize schedule and possible payout based on the number of registered players. The Info tab shows you all the rules that apply to that event.

Tournament Buy-ins

A variety of tournaments with cash buy-ins or ‘no pay’ tournaments in the form of freerolls, Gold Chip and Gold Card events are offered daily. When entering a cash tournament, you’ll find a buy-in amount plus an entry fee, indicated by a ‘+ $’. For all cash tournaments, the buy-in amount is added to the prize pool while the entry fee portion is taken as compensation for hosting the event.

Juicy Stakes offers plenty of different poker game options including America’s favorite version of Poker, Texas Holdem. You’ll also find Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo ring games and tournaments in both Real Money and Play Money.

Free Poker Games

If you’re new to poker, then playing for free at any of our play money tables is a great way to get started as it offers you a no risk chance to learn the game and get familiarized with the Juicy Stakes tables and online poker in general.

Juicy Stakes play money games can be accessed through our poker client by clicking on “Play Money on the right side of the lobby. As with the real money games Texas Holdem, Omaha and Omaha Hi Lo formats are all available to play.

We also host a variety of freerolls that are free to enter with cash prizes up for grabs, found under the Freeroll tab within Tournaments under the Real Money section of the lobby.

To get started at the play money tables, we provide you with a bankroll of 1000 play money chips. Anytime your play money stack drops below that amount, we'll automatically refresh it back up to 1000 at the start of your next game or new table.

Play money tables and tournaments are open to all Juicy Stakes Account holders, with no deposit necessary.

Real Money

Juicy Stakes offers action 24/7 for players of all stakes and levels. Our real money tables range from penny buy-ins to high roller ring games. All depositing players also receive instant access to our industry leading Rewards Program.

Making a deposit on Juicy Stakes is quick, easy, and most of all safe. We're proud to offer a variety of deposit methods which can be found on the Cashier page.

Game Interface

Client Interface & Special Features

Playing poker at Juicy Stakes is as easy pulling up a chair, sitting down and getting dealt in. Designed by folks who know what makes a good poker game. Our interface is easy to use, secure and as reliable as a train. Juicy Stakes is the product of years of hard work and feedback from players and industry professionals. The result is a sturdy piece of software backed by some of the best rewards in the industry.

Game Tables

Welcome to the Juicy Stake tables, for ring game and tournament play. One of the first things you'll notice on our ring game or tournament tables, is the large action buttons. This is the main part of the action section; however there are more tools and features available to you depending on the game format you're playing - No Limit, Limit or Fixed Limit.

Avatars

We allow you to choose from a number of realistic characters when seated at a gaming table. In fact, they are quite realistic and move with your actions including a 'hands at their side' action should you sit out, or a 'lean forward' while you're in the game.

If you're playing online to avoid people, Juicy Stakes also offers the option to remove characters from game play as well as an optional 'simple' background.

Action Buttons

One of the first thing you'll likely notice, and likely the most important game interface took, are the large action buttons. These are large buttons displayed in multiple colors. When it's your turn to act, simply select the button that describes how you'd like to act - Fold, Check or Bet. If you're choosing to Bet, be sure to read below on your options should you be playing a pot limit or no limit game.

Action Buttons

Pre-Action Buttons

When you have a turn coming, but it's not yet your turn to act, the Pre-Action Buttons will appear. Clicking these will toggle an action to be performed automatically when it's your turn.

Pre-Action Buttons

Slider Raise Bar

When raising the bet, there are a few more options available to you. Our three quick raise buttons, allow you to raise ½ pot, the entire pot amount or go all-in, depending on your game format (i.e. Pot Limit or No Limit).

If you choose to change the amount of the standard raise amounts, our slider bar is your ticket to increasing the action! Simply use your mouse to pull the bar to the right, to increase the bet. If you have an exact amount in mind, you may also choose to simply type the amount in directly to the white text box.

Slider Raisebar

Game Tools

Juicy Stakes’s interface has four distinct tools shown in tab format, on the bottom left of your table game screen: Chat, Notes, Stats and Info. Each of these tools will allow you to view different elements about the game while observing or playing at the table.

Chat

Within these tabs, Chat will automatically be shown as your default view point. Here you'll see a review of the table action, including Dealer Chat, Announcements, and of course, player's chat.

If you wish to make a comment to players at the table, simply start typing your text in the white space and hit enter to post. We only ask that you keep your comments friendly, and of course, don't discuss your hand while it's still in play.

Tab Chat

Tips

Chat is color coded so you'll be able to easily determine the importance of a message.

Using the Options window, accessible via the bottom right button you see below, you can segment off Chat if you wish. Your options will include silencing the Dealer, our Summary setting which provides only basic hand details or Everything (default) which will display all incoming messages and chat. You can also choose to view

Chat only from Players, and not from Observers or railbirds.

Looking to shut a player up? Using the Notes tab, you'll have the option to select a player seated at the table and mute them, by clicking 'ignore'.

Notes

The Notes tab, allows you to make notes about a players game that may be helpful to your game should you meet them again at the Juicy Stakes tables.

Players at your table will be listed within the drop down menu. Choose a player and write notes within the text box as per below. We've also made some easy to use Rating Icons for quick and easy tagging of players.

Tab Notes

Stats

When playing at a table, the Stats tool will track your game play information. You can reset your stats when you feel necessary (i.e. if you're trying a new strategy).

Tab Stats

Info

You will see two distinct differences with the Info tool when playing Ring Games and Tournaments:

Tab Info

Ring Games

Check the Info tool to view the following information about a Ring Game table:

  • The number of people watching the table
  • The average number of people who view the flop
  • The average pot size
  • The number of hands played by the table in an hour
  • Your current Gold Chip status (displayed with the Gold Chip Meter)
  • The last Gold Card awarded publicly to someone at this table

Tournaments

Check the Info tool to view the following information about a Tournament table:

  • Information about the tournament (levels, time to break, time for level, etc)
  • Time Bank time remaining for player
  • Player's current rank

Special Features

Table Backgrounds

Not a people person? Juicy Stakes now offers a 'simple' table view without avatars or table characters. While at any gaming table, click on the Dealer's chip tray and choose the Background tab. You'll now find two table options available, classic and simple.

Resizable Game Tables

Choose your own table size with our resizable table option located on the bottom left of every gaming table. Create the Juicy Stakes screen of your choice by pulling & dragging the screen to your perfect size, or select our ready to go tiling, cascade, minimize or maximum sized options.

RNG / Shuffle

Secured Game Play

Creating a fair and quality gaming experience for our players is our highest priority at Juicy Stakes. The solution chosen for RNG/Shuffling is critical to ensuring a fair game for all players. Consequently, Juicy Stakes investigated many systems and algorithms before deciding on implementation of what we believe is a superior solution.

If you require any further information about the fairness of our games or Juicy Stakes's RNG/Shuffling implementation, please contact us at Support@JuicyStakes.eu.

Random Number Generator (RNG) & Shuffling

Juicy Stakes's RNG solution ensures a uniform distribution of cards whereby no sequence or relationship can be discovered in any way. The RNG solution is unaware of what’s going on in the game itself, so when the game requests a random card, the RNG has no idea of whose turn it is nor how the game is being played. We believe this is the ultimate impartial tool, better than the physical shuffling of cards.

Microsoft Crypto API RNG

Juicy Stakes uses the cryptographically-secure RNG system found in Microsoft’s CryptoAPI. "Cryptographically secure" means that the RNG is so completely random that even a large amount of computer analysis cannot predict or detect patterns in the output, a fact that has been validated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Microsoft's CryptoAPI RNG complies with Federal Information Processing Standard 186-2 appendix 3.1, using SHA-1 as the G function. It has been validated by the NIST's Cryptographic Module Validation Program. Details on this may be found here.

It is important to note that computers are deterministic machines, and as such, they cannot produce truly random numbers. For this reason one often refers to Pseudo Random Number Generators (PRNG). Pseudo implies that a PRNG does not produce truly random numbers, but numbers that are random enough for a specific practical use.

The validation of Microsoft's CryptoAPI by the National Institute of Standards and Technology proves the PRNG system used is highly random and highly secure as it is a critical building block for the CryptoAPI.
